Focus on the solution, not the problem

When I was in pain, I liked to put up sticky note reminders/mantras to myself to help me in my pain reprocessing journey. This one was a great help for me. It is NOT meant to spiritually bypass the hard but to help shift my intense focus away from the gripping and onto a releasing:

✨ Focus on the solution, not the “problem”. ✨

With neuroplastic symptoms, there is nothing to fix. It is important to try to not to focus on the “problem” but to instead focus on the solution, which is soothing your brain and nervous system.

There are many ways to do this. Here are a few:

Take a few slow breaths.

Visualize a wash of feel-good hormones.

Pause or slow down.

Use a guided meditation.

Say something comforting to yourself like, “This feels hard, but I am going to be okay.”

Creating moments of comfort will help your system unwind in time. Remember, there is nothing to fix. You can do this. I am here for you if you need help!
